Roseville Council Filing Closes for Districts 2 and 4

Roseville’s regular nomination period for two City Council seats closed at 5 p.m. Aug. 7, moving the District 2 and District 4 races toward the Nov. 3, 2026, general election.

The City of Roseville lists the regular filing period as July 13 through Aug. 7. The two district-based seats are the only Roseville City Council positions identified for election in November.

Possible filing extension

Placer County Elections says candidate filing may continue through Aug. 12 if an incumbent did not file for a seat, subject to statutory exceptions. The election office lists Aug. 13 for the random alphabet draw, a step used to determine the order of candidates’ names on the ballot.

The election information pages do not yet identify whether either district qualifies for the extension or provide a final certified candidate roster. A candidate-statement withdrawal deadline was listed for Aug. 8.

The final filing outcome will determine who can appear in Roseville’s November election for the two council seats and whether additional candidates can enter an extended contest. The general election is scheduled for Nov. 3, 2026.
