City of Trees Parade and Mardi Gras Festival 2026
Sacramento is gearing up for the fifth annual City of Trees Parade and Mardi Gras Festival on Saturday, February 28, 2026. This vibrant event celebrates the city’s rich diversity and culture, promising an afternoon and evening filled with entertainment and community spirit.
Event Highlights
- Festival Grounds Open at 3 PM: Enjoy live performances, interactive exhibits, food trucks, local vendors, and a beverage garden. Admission is free for children with RSVP.
- Parade at 5 PM: The parade will roll down Capitol Mall, through the festival grounds, and into Old Sacramento, showcasing dazzling floats and diverse performances.
- Evening Dance Party from 7 to 9 PM: The festival grounds will host a dance party featuring light-up floats and LED spinners, creating a festive atmosphere to conclude the day’s celebrations.
Parade Participation
Parade riders can board floats in the staging area and ride down Capitol Mall, throwing 100% recycled Mardi Gras beads to the public. After the parade, the light-up floats return to the festival grounds for the electric dance party.
