Salt Lake City Hosts First-of-Its-Kind Watch Party for Winter Games

Salt Lake City is gearing up to host a free, five-week watch party starting February 6, celebrating the upcoming Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games at the Civic Center. The event aims to unite the community in anticipation of the global sporting spectacle.

Opening Night: February 6, 2026
Location: Civic Center, 450 South 250 East
Highlights:
- 4 p.m. – Entertainment begins
- 5 p.m. – Performance by singer-songwriter Joshua James
- 6 p.m. – Program featuring additional performances, a drone show, and more
- 7–10 p.m. – Primetime broadcast

Mayor Erin Mendenhall expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “My hope and my vision is that while we get to celebrate our incredible athletes competing on the global stage, what we’re also doing is reclaiming this space as a winter space.” She emphasized the event’s role in reinforcing the city’s Olympic legacy.
