City rolls out new branding to attract investment
San Pablo is moving ahead with a new marketing and branding program aimed at strengthening its identity and drawing new jobs and housing investment. The initiative creates distinct brands for key commercial corridors, paired with a fresh tagline, “Growing Forward, Grounded in Community.” Residents and business owners will start seeing the look appear on street banners and city materials over the coming weeks, as staff work with consultants on a citywide rollout plan and outreach to local merchants.
Special council meeting Monday focuses on legal cases
City leaders will convene a special council meeting and closed session this Monday, February 9, at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 1000 Gateway Avenue. The agenda focuses on multiple active and potential lawsuits involving the city and its police department, along with a performance evaluation of the city attorney. Members of the public can attend in person, watch via livestream, and submit comments in person or by email, but phone and Zoom comments will not be taken for this session.
Valentine’s Day Family Dance returns next Friday
Families looking for a low-cost night out have a new option next week. The city’s Valentine’s Day Family Dance is set for Friday, February 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 2450 Road 20 in San Pablo. Admission is two dollars for residents and four dollars for non-residents, with music, light refreshments, arts and crafts, and plenty of time on the dance floor. All youth must attend with a parent or guardian, and the event is listed as ADA accessible.
Workforce workshops continue across the city
San Pablo’s economic development team continues to spotlight job training and business support as a key priority this winter. The San Pablo Economic Development Corporation is hosting recurring workforce workshops, including a session scheduled for this morning and additional weekly events through February and March. These programs connect residents with career coaching, training funds, and small business resources, and they are designed to help local workers adapt to changing job markets while keeping more economic opportunity anchored in the city.
