San Ramon City Council Candidate Filing Deadline Arrives Friday
San Ramon residents considering a run for mayor or City Council have until 5 p.m. Friday, August 7, to file nomination papers for the cityโs November 3, 2026, general municipal election.
The offices on the ballot are mayor, Councilmember District 2 and Councilmember District 4. The nomination period opened July 13.
Possible extension for an affected office
The filing period could extend through Wednesday, August 12, for an office if an incumbent does not file by the regular August 7 deadline. That extension is conditional and should not be treated as certain for any particular race.
Eligibility and filing materials
According to the cityโs candidate-information page, a person seeking City Council must be a San Ramon resident and a registered voter when nomination papers are issued.
Prospective candidates obtain nomination packets from the City Clerk during the nomination period.
