Santa Ana Gas and Diesel Prices Rise at Dyer Road Station
Regular gas and diesel each rose 5 cents at a Santa Ana station, while Orange County averages reached $5.667 and $7.008 amid elevated fuel costs.
Regular gasoline and diesel each rose 5 cents at a Santa Ana station compared with the previous same-site check, keeping fuel costs elevated for drivers and businesses across the area.
The 7-Eleven at 1700 E. Dyer Road listed regular gasoline at $5.699 per gallon and diesel at $7.099 on August 1, 2026. Those are posted prices at one station, not a citywide Santa Ana average, and the retailer says fuel prices are updated within 24 hours.
Orange County averages also moved higher
AAAโs August 1 Orange County price check put regular gasoline at an average of $5.667 per gallon and diesel at $7.008. The countywide averages were up from the prior dayโs $5.664 for regular gas and $6.993 for diesel.
The Dyer Road station was posting prices slightly above the county averages for both fuels. That difference shows why drivers may find meaningful variation from one station to another, even when countywide prices are moving in the same direction.
Prices remain far above last year
AAAโs comparison data shows Orange County regular gasoline at $5.623 a week earlier, $5.299 a month earlier and $4.419 a year earlier. Diesel stood at $6.939 a week ago, $6.473 a month ago and $5.030 a year ago.
That puts the current county average about $1.25 per gallon above the year-ago level for regular gasoline and about $1.98 higher for diesel. For a driver filling a 15-gallon tank, the gasoline difference alone represents nearly $19 more than the comparable year-ago cost, before considering any station-specific price difference.
Why the increase matters locally
Higher pump prices can put pressure on household transportation budgets, especially for commuters who drive daily or have longer trips. Diesel above $7 per gallon also matters to delivery fleets, contractors, service companies and other operators whose vehicles consume fuel as part of regular business.
Those costs can add operating pressure for local restaurants, repair companies, home-service providers and delivery businesses. The available price data does not document specific business responses, but sustained fuel increases can affect the cost of moving people, supplies and equipment.
For residents, the practical step is to compare nearby stations rather than assume every pump has the same price. The next AAA update will help show whether Orange Countyโs upward movement continues or begins to ease.
