Scooters Roll Out, Wellness Campus Announced, Busy Weekend Downtown
Toledo, OH – March 16, 2026 – City launches e-scooter season, new child wellness campus announced, and big crowds mark a busy weekend downtown.
City Launches 2026 E-Scooter Season
Toledo officially kicked off its 2026 Veo e-scooter season Monday with a ceremony at the University of Toledo’s Centennial Mall. City leaders say the program is returning with a focus on safe riding, expanded availability, and improved parking compliance.
The scooters have become a familiar sight in warmer months, offering another transportation option for students and downtown visitors. Officials encouraged riders to follow local traffic laws and park responsibly to avoid sidewalk clutter.
Unison Health Plans Child Wellness Campus
In a significant investment for local families, Unison Health announced plans to develop a 12-bed child wellness campus at 1212 Cherry Street. The project will be supported by a $2.6 million grant from the State of Ohio.
The facility is expected to provide specialized behavioral health services for children, adding critical capacity in northwest Ohio. Community leaders say the campus will help address growing demand for youth mental health support and reduce the need for families to seek care outside the region.
Downtown Draws Crowds for Weekend Events
It was a lively weekend across Toledo as several major events brought residents downtown.
Monster Jam roared into the Huntington Center from March 13 through March 15, filling the arena with fans eager to see the massive trucks in action. Meanwhile, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations kicked off early with a Saturday bar crawl and themed festivities throughout the downtown entertainment district.
With spring just around the corner, the steady stream of events signals a busy season ahead for Toledo’s core neighborhoods.
