Smyrna’s River Line Park splash pad is open, with bookable summer hours
River Line Park’s new splash pad opened May 1, and Smyrna’s current summer sessions now give families a bookable local option in Ward 7.
Smyrna’s River Line Park splash pad is open, turning a new city parks project in Ward 7 into a summer option for families and nearby residents.
The city held a grand opening and dedication ceremony on May 1, 2026, at River Line Park on Oakdale Road. In its weekly report, Smyrna said about 100 guests attended and said the event included free T-shirts, concession samples, music and play at the splash pad.
The city project page describes the amenity as a Ward 7 addition to River Line Park that was expected to open in May 2026. This is a parks-and-recreation update about one city amenity, not a broader overhaul of Smyrna’s park system.
What the summer schedule looks like
According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution coverage updated May 19, the splash pad was open on weekends through May 24. Starting May 25 and running through Aug. 2, it moved to Wednesday through Monday with three bookable sessions: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., and 5 to 8 p.m.
The city’s event notice also tells residents to register, so families should check the reservation process before heading over. For parents planning a weekend or school-break outing, the schedule is the main thing to confirm before leaving home.
