Snowflake Unified named in Arizona report on new school projects

Snowflake Unified School District was among the Arizona districts named in a state report covering eight new schools or school expansions as classes resumed. The projects were funded through the Arizona New School Facilities Fund and are intended to provide additional or improved space for students and staff.

The Arizona Department of Administration’s 2026 first-quarter report said the listed projects across the districts would serve more than 4,200 students in total. For Snowflake Unified, the construction or expansion adds a state-reported facilities development relevant to families, school employees and district planning.

The report separately said the School Facilities Division awarded $57 million in Building Renewal Grants during the first two months of fiscal year 2026. Those grants covered fire and safety work, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, and other priority projects in 79 districts. The statewide grant total was not identified as funding specifically for Snowflake Unified.

The report does not identify which Snowflake Unified campus was built or expanded, the project cost or the increase in student capacity. Its identified milestone for the listed projects is that they were celebrated when classes resumed; it does not provide a further Snowflake-specific construction milestone.
