Springfield Jazz & Blues Fest returns Aug. 7-8 with new lineup, downtown parking plan
Springfield’s downtown Jazz & Blues Fest is scheduled to begin Friday, August 7, with a two-day program featuring two stages, a published lineup of jazz and blues performers, and organizer-provided guidance for parking and moving between venues.
The Kiwanis-presented festival will take place Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8, at Mother Stewart’s Brewing and the Johnny Lytle Stage at National Road Commons. Festival materials also identify the State Theater as an air-conditioned viewing location and a site for late-night jam sessions.
The official 2026 Ohio Summer Events Guide independently lists Jazz Blues Fest in Springfield for August 7-8.
Where and when
Festival programming is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The two primary performance areas are within walking distance in downtown Springfield, with events centered at Mother Stewart’s Brewing and National Road Commons.
Organizers describe the festival as free to the public. The festival site also encourages attendees to bring chairs and lists food vendors and locally brewed beer among the on-site offerings.
The 2026 lineup
Friday’s Johnny Lytle Stage schedule includes Miles on Miles at 5:30 p.m., the Jalen Baker Quartet performing the music of Johnny Lytle at 7 p.m., and SSJO with Marquise Knox at 8:30 p.m. Mother Stewart’s programming includes Overflow, Lexi Hamner, Talisha Holmes and Vino Louden.
Saturday’s Johnny Lytle Stage schedule begins with Dean Simm’s Satchmo Show at 2:30 p.m. Other featured performances include the Brandon Meeks Quartet, a Jolie Demesmin and Chris Andrews tribute to Nancy Wilson and Cannonball, Bobby Floyd B3 Trio, and Tito Puente Jr. at 8:30 p.m.
At Mother Stewart’s, the schedule lists Mother’s Jazz Collective, Crabs without Legs, Blue Spectrum, Pharez Whitted and Super Blue: Kurt Elling and Charlie Hunter with special guest drummer Nate Smith at 9 p.m. Organizers note that the schedule can change.
Parking information
Festival organizers say all parking options listed on the festival parking page are free. The primary option is the Downtown Parking Garage at 99 N. Fountain Ave., which organizers describe as a three-level facility with 305 spaces, accessible parking and first-floor electric-vehicle charging stations.
Other organizer-listed options include the Ohio Valley Surgical Lot at 100 W. Main St., the Hatch Artist Studios Lot at 105 N. Center St., the lot at South Fountain Avenue and West High, and street parking on North Fountain Avenue and nearby side streets, including areas along Fisher Street and North Plum Street.
Drivers should note that the garage entrance is approached from the south because Fountain Avenue is one-way northbound, according to the festival’s parking guidance. Organizers also tell drivers to avoid any temporary festival barricades, fire hydrants and yellow-painted curbs.
The Courtyard by Marriott Springfield Downtown lots and the private Bushnell Building garage are reserved for hotel guests, event clients and private tenants. Festival attendees are not permitted to park there and could face towing, organizers say.
Moving between stages and cooling down
According to the festival map, a complimentary golf-cart shuttle will assist with mobility between stages. Organizers also describe the venues as walkable and identify the State Theater as a cooling center with air conditioning and daytime livestreams from the National Commons stage.
The State Theater is also scheduled to host late-night jam sessions after the daytime performances. Those details come from festival materials; the available sources do not independently establish city-approved road closures, barricades, detours or a formal traffic plan.
Residents, commuters and downtown businesses should therefore check for any separate city or public-safety notices before relying on assumptions about traffic restrictions.
