Fort Worth, TX – March 11, 2026 – City leaders met Tuesday as storms rolled through Tarrant County, while school officials and emergency crews addressed key updates.
Fort Worth saw a busy stretch of civic activity and stormy weather over the past 48 hours, with city officials, school leaders and emergency agencies all making headlines.
Severe Thunderstorm Watch Covers Tarrant County
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued Tuesday night, March 10, for Tarrant County and much of North Central Texas. The alert remained in effect until early Wednesday morning, March 11.
The watch included Fort Worth and surrounding cities, with the National Weather Service warning of the potential for strong winds, hail and heavy rain. While no widespread damage was immediately reported, the alert prompted residents to monitor conditions closely and review emergency plans.
City Council Holds March 10 Work Session
The Fort Worth City Council convened Tuesday, March 10, for a scheduled work session at City Hall. Council members reviewed items in advance of upcoming votes, including policy updates and departmental briefings.
Work sessions allow council members to discuss proposals in detail before formal action is taken at regular meetings. Agendas posted ahead of the session outlined multiple discussion items tied to city operations and long-term planning.
Residents can view meeting materials and follow future discussions through the city secretary’s public calendar and posted agendas.
FWISD Special Board Meeting Held Tuesday Evening
Also on March 10, Fort Worth ISD trustees gathered for a specially called board meeting at the district service center on Camp Bowie Boulevard.
The evening session included an opportunity for public comment and was recorded for online viewing. District officials continue to address governance matters and provide updates connected to ongoing state oversight and district initiatives.
Community members were able to sign up in advance or at the meeting to share remarks directly with trustees.
With storm season ramping up and several public meetings underway, this week marks an active start to mid-March for Fort Worth residents.
