Streetsboro schools remain under financial precaution as district plans 2026-27 staffing changes
Streetsboro City Schools remains under Ohioโs Financial Precaution status as the district prepares staffing and operational changes for the 2026-27 school year. One documented change will reduce the full-time athletic director position at Streetsboro Middle School to part-time.
The district reported the financial status and planned changes in an update following the Streetsboro Board of Educationโs March 12, 2026, meeting. The athletic-director change is scheduled to begin with the next school year.
Financial plan outlines FY2026 revenue
Streetsboroโs written FY2026 financial plan projects total revenue of about $28.84 million. The plan also includes a five-year forecast extending through FY2029, giving the district a longer-range view of its projected finances.
The plan lists $20,489,423 in general property-tax revenue and $5,457,728 in unrestricted state grants-in-aid. It also projects $276,211 in state-restricted grants and $1,067,392 in other revenue.
The documentโs listed revenue categories combine to about $29.90 million under its accounting presentation, while the plan identifies total FY2026 revenue as approximately $28.84 million. Those figures are presented in the districtโs written plan alongside the individual revenue projections.
Financial Precaution status can affect staffing, student programs and future budget decisions. For students and families, the athletic-director reduction is the clearest documented staffing effect tied to the districtโs planning for 2026-27.
Operating levy set for May ballot
The district had earlier approved placing a 7-mill operating levy before voters on the May 5, 2026, ballot. The levy is part of the districtโs response to its financial position, but the election will determine whether voters approve it.
The March update described staffing and operational changes for the coming school year, including the middle-school athletic-director adjustment. It did not enumerate every planned change in the public update.
For now, the known action at Streetsboro Middle School is a shift from a full-time athletic director position to part-time status beginning in 2026-27. The next major scheduled financial decision is the May 5 levy vote, while the districtโs written forecast extends through FY2029.
