Fatal Accident on Burney Road
On January 25, 2026, at approximately 12:01 a.m., a tragic multi-vehicle accident took place at the intersection of Burney Road and W. Airport Blvd. A gray Volvo ran a traffic signal, colliding with a white Lexus. Sadly, a passenger in the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene, and three others were transported to the hospital. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Sugar Land Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. The driver of the Volvo did not show signs of impairment but consented to a blood specimen; results are pending.
City Acquires Historic Imperial Sugar Property
