New York State Police Investigator Injured During Arrest Operation
Syracuse, NY — January 30, 2026 — A New York State Police investigator was injured during an arrest operation in Syracuse. The incident occurred on January 29, 2026, at approximately 8:15 a.m. when the investigator, assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, was assisting in executing an arrest warrant at 2000 Lodi Street. The suspect, Cedric Cundiff, 67, wanted in Massachusetts for first-degree robbery, barricaded himself inside a bedroom. During the operation, the investigator sustained a stab wound to his hand and was transported to Upstate University Hospital. Cundiff was taken into custody without further incident and is expected to face additional charges in New York State, including Assault in the Second Degree. The investigation is ongoing.
