Teen Summit, Route 66 Car Show and Library Art Highlight Fontana Weekend

Fontana’s calendar is packed this weekend, with youth leadership, classic cars and creative programs drawing residents across the city.

Teen Leadership Summit at Jurupa Hills

Students from across Fontana gathered Saturday, March 7, at Jurupa Hills High School for the city’s Teen Leadership Summit. The daylong event, running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., focuses on building confidence, communication skills and civic engagement among local teens.

Workshops and group activities are designed to help students connect with mentors and learn practical leadership tools they can bring back to their campuses and community groups.

Route 66 Car Show Rolls In

Car enthusiasts lined up Friday evening for the Fontana Car Show along Spring Street between Sierra and Juniper avenues. The March 6 event featured a range of classic cars, custom builds and community vendors.

Meanwhile, another major auto event is set to draw crowds this weekend. The Pickups Limited Route 66 Car Show is taking place on East Avenue, showcasing vintage trucks and specialty vehicles from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organizers say the event blends automotive history with family-friendly fun, raffles and awards.

Adventures in Art for Young Creators

Families also turned out earlier this week for Adventures in Art at the Lewis Library and Technology Center. The March 5 program invited children ages 6 to 11 to experiment with different art techniques and materials in a guided, hands-on setting.

The library continues to expand youth programming this spring, offering creative outlets that complement classroom learning and give families free local options for after-school enrichment.

With educational workshops, community car culture and arts programming all happening within days of each other, Fontana’s early March schedule reflects a city leaning into both civic engagement and community connection.
