Credit union reports another apparent ATM break-in attempt
Toledo Urban Federal Credit Union says an ATM at its Dorr Street location was damaged in what appears to be another break-in attempt, and the alarm did not sound. Leaders said the location had been planning a soft re-open, but the latest incident is forcing another reset as the credit union works with investigators and reviews security.
The credit union’s CEO asked neighbors to share tips if they saw anything suspicious, noting this was not the first time one of the organization’s ATMs has been targeted.
City schedules March 3 open-house on Raw Water Main pipeline
The City of Toledo is holding a public forum to walk residents through its Raw Water Main project, a roughly 10-mile pipeline intended to move Lake Erie water to the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant. The open-house format is designed for people to drop in, see updated plans, and learn what construction could mean for traffic and nearby properties.
The meeting is set for Tuesday, March 3, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Eisenhower Intermediate School in Oregon, with stations focused on environmental considerations, traffic maintenance, and easements and real estate.
Huntington Center announces a summer roller hockey pilot season
A new summer professional roller hockey league is slated to run a 21-date pilot season at the Huntington Center, beginning July 10 and ending Aug. 15. Organizers said four locally branded teams will play an 18-game regular season plus semifinals and a championship.
Season tickets for the general public are scheduled to go on sale Friday, Feb. 27, and fans are being invited to help name two of the teams as details roll out.
Weekend calendar: Toledo GROWs seed swap returns Feb. 28
Gardeners can kick off the growing season at Toledo GROWs’ annual seed swap on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Scott High School. Attendees can pick up free seed packets, with the option to bring extras to trade and expand their haul.
