Treefort 2026 Kicks Off, Workforce Council Meets, and Big Sky Wraps Up in Boise

It is a busy week across Boise, with downtown festivals, statewide meetings and major sports events all drawing attention.

Treefort 2026 Takes Over Downtown

Treefort Music Fest is back in full swing, bringing more than 500 artists to stages and venues throughout downtown Boise. The multi-day festival features music, comedy, film, food and tech events across more than 30 locations.

Organizers say this year includes expanded programming and several free community events, continuing the festival’s role as both a cultural draw and a significant economic boost for the city. Hotels, restaurants and small businesses typically see one of their busiest stretches of the year during Treefort week.

Workforce Development Council Holds Boise Meeting

State workforce leaders gathered Tuesday afternoon in Boise for a public meeting of the Idaho Workforce Development Council’s Grant Review Committee. The session, held in person and online, focused on reviewing grant applications and workforce funding priorities.

The council plays a key role in directing job training resources and aligning education programs with Idaho employers’ needs. With Boise continuing to grow, workforce development remains a top issue for both city and state leaders.

Big Sky Tournament Wraps at Idaho Central Arena

Boise recently hosted the 2026 Big Sky Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments at Idaho Central Arena. The weeklong event brought teams and fans from across the region to downtown.

The tournaments, held March 7 through March 11, concluded with Idaho claiming the men’s championship and the women’s title game drawing strong local support. City officials have consistently highlighted the economic impact of major sporting events at the arena, which continue to anchor downtown activity.
