Twin Falls Gas and Diesel Prices Climb as July Travel Costs Rise

Twin Falls-area drivers are paying more for both regular gasoline and diesel in AAA’s latest metro price check. Regular gasoline is averaging $4.316 per gallon, while diesel is averaging $5.340 per gallon.

Regular gasoline rises from last week

AAA’s Twin Falls metro figures show regular gasoline up 0.9 cents from the previous day and 14.3 cents from a week earlier. The average is also 4.2 cents higher than a month ago and 81.9 cents higher than a year ago.

At the current metro average, a 15-gallon fill-up costs about $64.74 before any station-specific discount or loyalty savings. Individual pumps can be higher or lower than the metro average, so the AAA figure should be treated as a market indicator rather than the price at every Twin Falls station.

Diesel remains above $5 per gallon

Diesel is averaging $5.340 per gallon in the Twin Falls metro. The price is up 0.7 cents from the previous day, 24.0 cents from last week, and 54.7 cents from last month. Compared with a year ago, diesel is up $1.364 per gallon.

A 25-gallon diesel fill-up at the current average would cost about $133.50. That can matter beyond individual drivers because diesel is used by delivery operators, contractors, farmers, service companies and other businesses that move equipment, goods or workers.

How Twin Falls compares

The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s weekly data for the week ending July 27 put the national regular-gas average at $4.228 per gallon and the Rocky Mountain average at $4.219. Those are weekly regional benchmarks, not July 31 station prices, but they provide broader context for the Twin Falls metro figure.

Higher pump prices can raise travel costs for commuters and weekend travelers and may add operating pressure for restaurants, farms, contractors, delivery businesses and other companies that rely on frequent vehicle use. Those costs do not automatically translate into higher local prices, but fuel is one expense businesses may need to account for as summer travel continues.
