Weekend Markets, Gem Faire and Community Events Fill Tacoma’s Late-March Calendar

This first full weekend of spring brought a full calendar of activity across Tacoma, with markets, pop-ups and community meetups drawing steady crowds.

Gem Faire and Pop-Up Markets

The Gem Faire wrapped up its three-day run March 20–22 at the Washington State Fair Events Center, featuring vendors selling crystals, beads, jewelry and minerals. The longtime traveling show typically draws hobbyists, collectors and families looking for a hands-on outing.

On Saturday, shoppers also turned out for the Fieldhouse Flea Market at UPS Fieldhouse and a Spring Makers Market at Peace Lutheran Church. A storage locker garage sale along Dock Street added another stop for bargain hunters.

Neighborhood Walks and Library Events

Community-focused events were also in full swing. A Hilltop neighborhood spring walk invited residents to connect and explore local streets on foot, while volunteers gathered at Orangegate Park for an Explore and Restore cleanup.

Tacoma Public Library branches continued their Women’s History Month scavenger hunt, running through March 31, along with workshops and certification sessions aimed at job seekers and students.

Cars, Coffee and Community Conversation

Car enthusiasts gathered Saturday at LeMay for Tacoma Cars & Coffee, a casual meetup that regularly draws a mix of classic, custom and modern vehicles.

Community conversations also continued over breakfast events and public resource pop-ups, reflecting a broader push this month toward civic engagement and neighborhood connection.

With more markets, workshops and volunteer events scheduled through the end of March, Tacoma’s spring calendar is showing strong momentum heading into April.
