Winter Weather Advisory in Place Across Lorain

Deadly Crash Shuts Down State Route

A fatal head-on crash reported Thursday evening in Lorain County prompted a large emergency response and temporarily shut down a state route. Authorities said the collision involved an SUV and a box truck and resulted in one fatality at the scene.

The roadway remained closed for several hours as crews cleared debris and investigators worked to determine what led to the crash. During that time, drivers were advised to seek alternate routes and expect delays in the surrounding area.

Officials have not released additional details, and the investigation remains ongoing.
