Woodbridge plans Aug. 15 submission of $795,782 community-development plan to HUD

Woodbridge Township plans to submit its 2026 Annual Action Plan to the Middlesex County HOME Consortium on Aug. 15, beginning the next formal step toward directing $795,782.11 in community-development resources to public facilities, infrastructure and affordable housing.

The consortium is expected to forward the submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The plan is tied to Woodbridge’s Community Development Block Grant program and identifies the proposed municipal allocation across those three broad areas.

Plan follows May public hearing

Woodbridge held a public hearing on the 2026 Annual Plan on May 26 at the municipal building, 1 Main Street. The plan says its final version and an authorization resolution were placed on the Municipal Council agenda.

The township’s official agenda center lists a council meeting for Aug. 5, 2026. It also lists an Aug. 5 Planning Board regular meeting and an Aug. 6 Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting. The planning-board calendar lists additional meetings on Aug. 19 and Sept. 2.

Those dates fall around the township’s planned Aug. 15 submission, although the plan identifies Aug. 15 as the date for sending the materials to the county consortium, not as a stated funding deadline.

What the funding would cover

The plan’s $795,782.11 allocation is intended for municipal public facilities, infrastructure and affordable-housing projects. That makes the document the township’s vehicle for setting out how federal community-development resources would be directed before implementation.

The accessible plan summary does not break the total into individual project amounts or identify the neighborhoods and construction schedules for each proposed project. It also does not establish that HUD has approved the plan or that the money has been awarded.
