Maryland sets Nov. 9 hearing on proposed Caroline solar project
The Maryland Public Service Commission will take public comment Nov. 9 on ICFTS MD Solar LLCโs pending request to build a 4.63-megawatt alternating-current community solar project in Caroline County.
The application, filed Nov. 21, 2025, seeks a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for a proposed facility at 26844 Hobbs Road in Denton. The case has been delegated to the commissionโs Public Utility Law Judge Division; the hearing is a procedural step, not approval of the project.
The hearing is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Caroline County Health & Public Services Building, Rooms 111 and 112, 403 South 7th Street in Denton. People seeking to attend virtually must register by Nov. 5. Written comments referencing Case No. 9835 can be submitted through Nov. 12.
The PSC says the applicant, the Maryland Department of Natural Resourcesโ Power Plant Research Program and commission technical staff are expected to present recommendations at the hearing.
