WMO Warns on July 3 That El Niño Is Strengthening, Raising Global Extreme-Weather Risks
The World Meteorological Organization says El Niño has developed in the tropical Pacific and is forecast to strengthen rapidly from July through September 2026, increasing the risk of heat, drought, heavy rainfall and flooding.
