VDOT still lists the Route 16 bridge replacement over the Clinch River in Tazewell as in design. Right-of-way work is estimated to begin in October 2026, with bidding planned for July 2028 and construction estimated to start in November 2028.
Argyle has three separate FM 407 efforts at different stages: an I-35W improvement that began construction in April, a funded county project targeted for a March 2027 letting, and a broader TxDOT proposal that still faces design and right-of-way decisions.
