On Thursday afternoon, a collision occurred on Amargosa Road near Pancho Villa’s restaurant. A white Dodge Ram 1500 and a gray Toyota Tundra were involved. The Toyota rolled over, landing on its roof, while the Dodge Ram sustained significant front-end damage. Emergency crews responded promptly, and the southbound lanes were temporarily closed for vehicle removal. Injuries were reported, and ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
Man Arrested in Apple Valley for Drug and Firearm Possession
In Apple Valley, a 40-year-old Victorville man was arrested after deputies found approximately seven grams of suspected cocaine and a firearm in his possession. The arrest took place on January 30, 2026, at around 10:10 a.m. in the 19000 block of Bear Valley Road. The suspect, identified as Sammie Dixon, was booked at the High Desert Detention Center on charges related to drug possession while armed and prior drug-related offenses. He is currently held in lieu of $40,000 bail.
