Primary Election Day across Greensboro

Polls are open today from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for North Carolina’s primary. If you are in line at 7:30 p.m., you can still vote. Election Day voting is at your assigned precinct, so it’s worth double-checking your polling place and sample ballot before you head out.

If you are returning an absentee-by-mail ballot in Guilford County, the deadline is 7:30 p.m. today. County elections officials also note that local contests vary by address, so two neighbors can see different races on the same Election Day.

Multi-county U-Haul chase ends with arrest on Greensboro’s west side

Deputies say a Virginia man was taken into custody in Greensboro after a late-night chase that began as a response to a reported hit-and-run. Authorities used stop sticks more than once, and the driver eventually stopped near U.S. 29 around Guilford College Road. Investigators said the driver faces multiple charges, including felony fleeing to elude and DWI.

UNCG men draw VMI in the Southern Conference tournament

UNC Greensboro’s men’s basketball team is slated to open the Southern Conference tournament on Friday, March 6, with a first-round game against VMI in Asheville. UNCG enters as the No. 7 seed, and the winner is set to advance to a quarterfinal matchup with Wofford the next day.

Tonight at UNCG: Battle of the Chefs

Looking for something a little lighter after work? UNCG’s Battle of the Chefs is scheduled for today, Tuesday, March 3, from 4–7 p.m. on campus. Organizers say a judging panel that includes the UNCG chancellor and Greensboro’s mayor will sample dishes from teams representing groups across the university.
