Three men found dead in car; deaths not treated as suspicious
Police say three men were found dead inside a vehicle on Sunday morning in the area of Union Street and Scotts Avenue. Officers reported no visible signs of trauma and said the deaths appeared to be tied to a medical issue rather than violence.
The county medical examiner later identified the men as Carmelino Jimenez Aguilar, 39; Pedro Gonzalez Perez, 24; and Pablo Diaz Lopez, 28, all from Stockton. Officials said the investigation is continuing through the medical examiner.
Three separate gun arrests during traffic stops
Police reported three weapon-related arrests Saturday night after traffic enforcement stops in different parts of the city. In each case, officers said they found a loaded firearm during a search tied to the stop.
The stops were reported near California Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard, near Park Street and Madison Street, and in the 400 block of East Martin Luther King Boulevard. Police said no injuries were reported in the incidents.
StocktonCon draws crowds to the arena
StocktonCon brought a surge of cosplay, collectibles, and family-friendly activity to Adventist Health Arena over the weekend, with thousands attending panels, shopping vendor booths, and taking photos with costumed characters.
Organizers said the event has grown into multiple conventions in Stockton and Lodi each year, and that a portion of activities this time supported a local child-abuse prevention effort through fundraising such as a silent auction.

City Council and concurrent authorities were scheduled to meet Tuesday, with a closed session in the early afternoon and a regular session in the evening at City Hall.
