MISD leadership: superintendent contract extended
McKinney ISD’s board has approved an amendment extending Superintendent Shawn Pratt’s contract through June 30, 2029. District documents tied to the amendment indicate the extension did not automatically include a salary increase. Pratt has served as superintendent since March 2023.
City notes: North Collin County Neighborhood Conference set for March 7
The city is hosting the 5th Annual North Collin County Neighborhood Conference on Saturday, March 7, at the McKinney ISD Community Event Center. The free event is scheduled for late morning into early afternoon and is billed as a chance to hear directly from economic development leaders and learn how planning decisions connect to jobs, infrastructure, and city services. Registration is required.
Parks: Finch Park earns a Lone Star Legacy Park designation
Finch Park has been named a Lone Star Legacy Park by the Texas Recreation and Parks Society, an honor that recognizes parks with long-standing significance in their communities. The city highlighted Finch Park’s history as McKinney’s first city-owned park and noted it remains a major gathering spot, including as the home of the citywide Juneteenth celebration.
