McKinney Gas Prices Range From $3.40 to $3.52; Diesel Near $5
Current McKinney listings show regular gas from $3.399 to $3.519 and diesel from $4.959 to $5.179, with prices varying by station.
McKinney drivers are seeing different prices depending on where they fill up. Current listings reviewed for this update show regular gasoline ranging from $3.399 to $3.519 per gallon, while diesel ranges from $4.959 to $5.179.
Regular gas ranges across sampled stations
Costcoโs McKinney warehouse lists regular gasoline at $3.45 per gallon. The reviewed 7-Eleven pages show regular prices from $3.399 at the State Highway 121 location to $3.519 at 1550 N. Hardin Boulevard. Another 7-Eleven listing at 1814 N. Central Expressway shows regular gas at $3.499.
Across those sampled listings, the difference between the lowest and highest regular-gas prices is 12 cents per gallon. On a 20-gallon fill-up, that spread would amount to about $2.40 before any price change during the day.
Diesel remains close to $5
Diesel prices are also uneven across the reviewed McKinney stations. The lowest sampled diesel price is $4.959 at 8885 W. University Drive. The highest is $5.179 at 8400 State Highway 121. The 1814 N. Central Expressway listing shows diesel at $4.999, while 1550 N. Hardin Boulevard lists diesel at $5.059.
That creates a 22-cent spread per gallon. For a 50-gallon tank, the difference between the lowest and highest sampled listings would be about $11. Diesel users, including contractors, delivery fleets, landscapers and service businesses, can feel that difference more quickly because they often refuel larger vehicles or travel more miles.
AAA shows separate regional movement
AAAโs Dallas metro price check lists regular gasoline at $3.568 per gallon and diesel at $5.112. Those are regional averages, not a McKinney-specific city average, but they provide context for the local station listings.
AAA shows Dallas-area regular gas lower than both the previous day and the prior week. Diesel is slightly lower than the previous day but higher than a week earlier, so the two fuel types are not moving in exactly the same direction.
Why checking stations can matter
For a typical passenger vehicle, a 12-cent regular-gas difference may be modest on one fill-up. The savings can become more noticeable for drivers who refuel several times a week, operate larger tanks or make frequent delivery, restaurant, construction and service calls. Comparing stations before leaving home may also help weekend travelers limit the cost of a longer trip.
Costco says its posted prices are updated frequently and may not match the pump price at the time of purchase. The 7-Eleven pages state that gas prices are updated within 24 hours. All of the figures in this report should therefore be treated as listed prices that can change during the day, not guaranteed pump prices.
