Irving Pump Prices: Gas Eases as Diesel Rises Above $5

Regular gas dips for the day but remains elevated

The Dallas-area regular-gas average fell 2.9 cents from the previous day, when it was $3.701 per gallon. Even with that daily decline, the latest average remained 8.9 cents higher than a week earlier, 49.4 cents higher than a month earlier and 75.1 cents higher than a year earlier.

For Irving commuters, the daily move offers limited relief because the broader comparisons remain higher. Households planning frequent driving, weekend travel or multiple errands may still notice the difference in fuel costs.

Diesel rises 13.6 cents and clears $5

Diesel moved in the opposite direction. AAA listed the Dallas-area average at $5.093 per gallon, up 13.6 cents from $4.957 the previous day. The latest diesel average was also 27.6 cents higher than a week earlier, 89.9 cents higher than a month earlier and $1.856 higher than a year earlier.

That increase matters beyond individual pickup and truck owners. Diesel-dependent contractors, delivery operators, commercial fleets and service businesses may face higher operating costs when vehicles need frequent refueling. Those costs can affect delivery charges, service-call pricing and the cost of moving materials.

One Irving station offers a different snapshot

A 7-Eleven listing for 4118 W Airport Freeway in Irving showed regular gasoline at $3.559 per gallon and diesel at $5.199. The listing says gas prices were updated within 24 hours, but it represents one station at one point in time—not the average price across Irving.

That station’s regular price was below the Dallas-area average, while its diesel price was above the metro average. The difference is a reminder that drivers should compare nearby stations before filling up, particularly when diesel prices are moving quickly.

For now, the clearest split is between the two fuels: regular gas is modestly cheaper than the previous day but remains well above recent comparison points, while diesel has crossed $5 in the Dallas-area average and is rising much faster.
