Irving Connector launches to replace cut DART routes, free through June 24
Irving Connector started June 10 as a city-backed replacement for former DART routes 225 and 255, with free rides through June 24 and a $1.50 fare after that.
Irving has launched Irving Connector, a city-backed transit option meant to replace former DART bus routes 225 and 255. The service began June 10, runs daily from 5 a.m. to midnight, and is free through June 24 before the regular $1.50 fare begins.
For riders who used the old routes, the most immediate question is whether the new service fits their commute. The city says Irving Connector uses fixed-stop van service, giving commuters, shift workers, students, and shoppers a local option on the corridors that lost DART coverage.
The city is also pointing riders to a second transit change coming soon. A separate Las Colinas circulator called The Loop is scheduled to start July 6, adding another option for travel around Las Colinas.
For now, Irving riders who want to try the Connector have a short window to do it at no cost. After June 24, the city’s posted fare is $1.50 per trip.
