Irving Opens Public Input on 2026-27 City Budget

Irving has begun preparing its fiscal year 2026-27 municipal budget and is gathering suggestions, feedback and opinions from residents and other stakeholders.

The fiscal year begins Oct. 1, 2026. The budget will shape the city’s spending, staffing and services for the coming year, as well as decisions related to the municipal tax rate.

The city has not yet disclosed a proposed spending total, tax rate, major department allocations or a final budget adoption date. Those details will come later in the process and should not be treated as final before the City Council adopts the tax rate and budget.

What happens next

City administration will continue developing the proposal. The city manager is responsible for proposing the annual operating budget before the council adopts the tax rate.
