Arrie Mae Roberts identified after fatal Columbus pedestrian crash

Reports published Oct. 5 identified the pedestrian killed near Veterans Parkway and 18th Street in Columbus as 76-year-old Arrie Mae Roberts. The crash happened Sunday, Oct. 4.

Now Georgia reported that Roberts’ family had been notified. WTVM reported that Columbus police placed the crash near the intersection and that the department’s Motor Squad was investigating.

Now Georgia and WRBL, in an article republished by AOL, attributed to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan that no charges were pending at the time of reporting. That describes the status then; it is not a determination of fault or a guarantee that charges will not be filed later. Police were still investigating in the reports published Oct. 5.
