The Lucy, a residential tower incorporating preserved elements of the St. Lucy Church complex, has reached its architectural height in Jersey City, according to structural engineering firm DeSimone Consulting Engineering. In an Oct. 12, 2026, project update, DeSimone also described a topping-out event. The milestone does not mean the building is complete or occupied.
The developer announced a 444-unit rental project at 619 Grove Street, with 431 market-rate apartments and 13 affordable apartments. Project materials describe plans to retain facades of St. Lucy Church, its rectory and school, as well as the bell tower.
Completion estimates differ. DeSimone says full completion is expected in 2027, while an Aug. 29, 2026, report attributed to NJ.com projected completion in the third quarter of 2028. That report said crews were pouring the 16th floor at the time. Construction remains underway.
