NW 74th Place remains closed after 10-foot-deep cave-in
A section of NW 74th Place near NW 48th Avenue in Hillsboro Pines remained closed to traffic, Coconut Creek Police Department said in a later notice. The department said part of the road had caved in to a depth of about 10 feet, Broward County would handle repairs, and the closureโs duration was unknown. The department described the site as unincorporated county jurisdiction.
WSVN reported that a partial collapse of a small canal bridge was discovered early Nov. 5, 2026, near the Coconut Creek-Pompano Beach border. Its Nov. 5 report advised drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
WSVN also reported that some Coconut Creek utility services were affected on Nov. 5, without identifying the services or number of customers. The later police notice did not address whether those disruptions continued, so current utility-service status is unknown.
