Boise drivers are still paying elevated fuel prices. AAA’s April 30 check shows Boise City metro regular gas at $4.404 a gallon and diesel at $5.438.
Regular gas was essentially flat from yesterday, up about 3 cents from a week ago, up about 9 cents from a month ago, and about $1.11 higher than a year ago. Diesel moved up less than a cent day to day, rose about 2 cents from a week ago, slipped about 12 cents from a month ago, and is about $1.95 above last year’s level.
For context, Boise regular is a penny below Idaho’s AAA average of $4.414 and about 10 cents above AAA’s U.S. regular average of $4.300. Boise diesel is 5 cents below Idaho’s $5.487 average and still above the U.S. diesel benchmark of $5.351 in the latest Energy Information Administration update.
That keeps pressure on commuters and households, but the bigger pinch is still for contractors, delivery drivers, restaurants, fleet operators, and weekend travelers. Idaho Statesman reporting says gas across the state has hovered around the $4.30 range, and Boise State Public Radio noted that oil prices surged again as fuel prices moved higher, which helps explain why the market remains sticky.
