Cassville fuel watch: regular stays low-$2s as Missouri averages climb
Cassville drivers can still find regular gas in the low $2s and diesel under $3 at some pumps, even as Missouri’s AAA averages climb again.
Cassville drivers can still find regular gasoline in the low $2s at some local stations, and diesel is still under $3 at two of the three posted pumps we checked. Murphy USA on Old Exeter Road lists $2.24 for regular and $2.89 for diesel. Casey’s on South Main lists $2.25 for regular and $2.79 for diesel. Gulf on Main is higher at $2.83 for regular and $3.19 for diesel. That spread matters because AAA’s Missouri average is $4.162 for regular and $5.285 for diesel, both up again from yesterday and a week ago.
What the Cassville pump board shows
The posted prices are not a live countywide average, but they do show why it pays to compare before topping off. In a town like Cassville, a few cents at the pump can matter to commuters, delivery routes, school runs, service calls, and weekend travel. For diesel buyers, the gap is even more important: one local listing is above $3 while two are still below that mark.
Missouri and U.S. context
AAA says the Missouri average for regular gas rose from $4.124 yesterday and $3.833 a week ago. Diesel in Missouri rose from $5.277 yesterday and $4.885 a week ago. The national AAA average is $4.558 for regular and $5.674 for diesel, and AAA says the national average rose 25 cents for a second straight week. The U.S. Energy Information Administration‘s May 5 fuel update shows the same broader pressure, with weekly U.S. regular gasoline at $4.452 and on-highway diesel at $5.640.
Why it matters
Higher fuel costs ripple through household budgets and local business pricing. Contractors, farmers, landscapers, restaurants, retailers, and delivery drivers all feel the difference when diesel and gasoline stay elevated, and weekend travelers can see the cost show up before they even leave town.
