Arcadia Police Bring National Night Out to City Hall on August 4
Arcadia residents can meet local police, learn about public safety and take part in family activities Tuesday evening, August 4, during the city’s National Night Out program.
The free event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. on the Arcadia City Hall lawn and is open to all. The city describes National Night Out as a yearly community gathering intended to strengthen connections between local law enforcement and residents.
What to expect
The City of Arcadia’s July newsletter says attendees will be able to meet Arcadia Police Department personnel and learn about public safety. The program also will include a photo opportunity with K-9 Kopper and guided tours of the police station.
Other planned activities include a classic-car show, face painting, live music, food vendors, games and giveaways. Department leaders also are scheduled to take part in a dunk tank.

Residents and other visitors can attend during the scheduled three-hour program. The city’s announcement says the event is open to all.
Community-policing purpose
National Night Out is being presented in Arcadia as a resident-engagement and community-policing event. Its stated purpose is to build connections between local law enforcement and the people they serve through informal interaction and community activities.
