Los Angeles-Area Gas, Diesel Prices Rise Again Near Arcadia
The Los Angeles-Long Beach benchmark rose July 31, reaching $5.707 for regular gas and $7.108 for diesel, with higher costs for Arcadia-area drivers.
Arcadia-area drivers are facing another increase in regional fuel costs. AAAโs Los Angeles-Long Beach metro average on Friday, July 31, 2026, reached $5.707 per gallon for regular gasoline and $7.108 for diesel.
Those are regional metro averages, not citywide averages for every station in Arcadia. Individual pumps may be higher or lower depending on the station, fuel brand, taxes, location and time of day.
Regular gasoline rises across every comparison window
Regular gasoline in the Los Angeles-Long Beach region rose 0.6 cents from Thursdayโs average of $5.701. It was up 6.2 cents from the July 24 average of $5.645, 26.8 cents from June 30โs $5.439 and $1.236 from the July 31, 2025, average of $4.471.
For an Arcadia-area commuter, a 15-gallon fill-up at the regional average would cost about $85.61 before any station-specific difference. The same amount at last yearโs comparison price would have cost about $67.07, a difference of roughly $18.54 per fill-up.
Diesel remains a heavier burden for commercial operators
Diesel also moved higher. AAA listed the Los Angeles-Long Beach average at $7.108 per gallon, up 1.8 cents from Thursday, 9.9 cents from a week earlier, 41.4 cents from a month earlier and $1.954 from a year earlier.
The year-over-year increase is especially significant for delivery fleets, contractors, freight operators, landscapers, waste haulers and other businesses that rely on diesel-powered vehicles or equipment. Higher fuel costs can become part of operating expenses and may put pressure on delivery charges, service prices or project budgets, although the regional price data does not document how any specific Arcadia business is responding.
Arcadia pump prices may differ from the metro benchmark
AAAโs California averages on July 31 were $5.651 for regular gasoline and $6.910 for diesel. The national regular-gas average was $4.106. Those figures provide broader context, but they are not substitutes for the Los Angeles-Long Beach benchmark used for Arcadia-area drivers.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration tracks broader weekly gasoline and diesel trends, while Associated Press reporting has described how elevated oil and fuel costs can work through freight, shipping, groceries and other household expenses. Those are broader-market implications, not documented price changes for a particular Arcadia store or service.
Drivers planning weekend trips, daily commutes or multiple stops may want to compare nearby stations before filling up. Contractors, restaurants, delivery operators and service businesses should also watch diesel and gasoline costs separately because the two fuels are moving at different price levels.
