Ascension commission approves 112-home Harvest Fields subdivision near Gonzales

The Ascension Parish Planning Commission approved the proposed Harvest Fields subdivision near Gonzales in a 3-1 vote on July 8, 2026, advancing a plan for 112 homes on open pasture near Cotton Field Avenue.

The property is outside Gonzales city limits, so the project is being considered through the Ascension Parish planning process. Dantin Bruce Development is leading the project.

The vote followed a public hearing attended by nearby residents. People who spoke raised concerns about traffic, road safety, flooding and school overcrowding as the subdivision moves forward.

Approval does not start construction
