Plank Road homicide case: arrest announced

Police announced an arrest in a deadly shooting from October 2025 on Plank Road near Riley Street. The suspect was booked this week and is facing a second-degree murder charge. Investigators said the victim was taken to a hospital and later died from injuries.

Worksite incident leaves one seriously hurt

Emergency crews responded to a bucket truck that caught fire near Evangeline Street and North Foster Drive on March 3. Officials said a mechanical failure sparked the fire in the elevated bucket, and one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after falling from the truck.
