Major H-E-B Development Approved
The Carrollton City Council has approved a zoning amendment for a 120,000-square-foot H-E-B store at Parker Road and Josey Lane. The development includes a gas station, car wash, barbecue restaurant, and a pharmacy with a drive-thru. The store will offer covered grocery pick-up and over 600 parking spaces. Construction timelines have not been announced yet.
Vehicle Fire Closes Southbound I-35E
On Friday evening, a vehicle fire near Dickerson Parkway in Carrollton led to the closure of all southbound lanes of I-35E. The fire was reported around 7:15 p.m., and while no injuries were reported, the closure lasted several hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene.
Online Tool for Reporting Non-Emergency Crimes
The Carrollton Police Department has launched an online reporting system for citizens to submit non-emergency police reports. This initiative aims to allow officers to focus on higher-priority calls and provide residents with a convenient way to report incidents such as vehicle burglaries, credit card abuse, and thefts under $2,500. The system is integrated with the department’s existing report system, ensuring that all reports are reviewed by a CPD officer.
