City Council Approves H-E-B Development

The Carrollton City Council has approved a zoning amendment for a 120,000-square-foot H-E-B store at Parker Road and Josey Lane. The development includes a gas station, car wash, barbecue restaurant, and pharmacy with a drive-thru. The store will offer covered grocery pick-up and over 600 parking spaces. Construction timelines have not been announced yet.

Car Break-Ins Surge in Local Neighborhoods

Carrollton police are investigating at least 58 vehicle break-ins that occurred overnight in the Meadow Ridge and Harvest Run neighborhoods. Residents reported shattered windows and stolen items. Surveillance footage shows individuals checking parked vehicles along the streets. Authorities are working to identify the suspects and advise residents to remain vigilant.

Transformer Fire Causes Power Outages

A transformer fire near Firehouse 4 on East Rosemeade Parkway led to power outages in the area. The fire also damaged an outdoor warning siren, which is currently out of service. Crews have stabilized the area, and power has been restored. The Office of Emergency Management is working to repair the siren.

New Dunkin’ Donuts Drive-Thru Coming Soon

A new Dunkin’ Donuts location is set to open at 1008 West Hebron Parkway Suite 108 by May 2024. The 2,084-square-foot store will feature an interior dining area and a drive-thru window, offering a variety of coffee and baked goods to Carrollton residents.
