City-Parish Moves Forward on Parishwide Concrete Restoration Project
Baton Rouge, LA – March 22, 2026 – City-Parish officials opened bids this week for a parishwide concrete restoration project targeting sewer repair sites.
Baton Rouge is taking another step toward improving neighborhood infrastructure.
Concrete Restoration Project Advances
The City of Baton Rouge and Parish of East Baton Rouge opened bids on March 19 for its Annual Parishwide Concrete Pavement Restoration Project. The work will focus on restoring concrete pavement at locations where sanitary sewer repairs have taken place across the parish.
According to bid documents, the project is designed to address wear and damage left behind after underground sewer maintenance. Crews will repair and replace sections of pavement at multiple sites, helping extend the life of local roadways and improve driving conditions for residents.
Bids were accepted electronically and in person at City Hall. Officials said submissions closed at 2 p.m. Thursday, with openings held shortly after. The project is listed under City-Parish Project No. 26-CR-MS-0001.
Why It Matters
Parishwide pavement restoration plays a key role in keeping infrastructure in good shape after utility work. Sewer system repairs are essential but often leave temporary patches in streets. This follow-up work ensures those areas are fully restored with durable concrete designed to last.
By grouping multiple repair locations into one annual project, the City-Parish aims to streamline construction and control costs while minimizing repeated disruptions in neighborhoods.
What’s Next
City-Parish officials will review submitted bids before awarding a contract. Once approved, construction timelines and affected locations are expected to be announced.
Drivers may see intermittent lane closures once work begins, particularly near previous sewer repair zones. Residents are encouraged to watch for updates from City-Parish departments as the project moves toward implementation.
