Columbus seeks bids for 5,026-foot Dragonfly Trail link
Columbus is seeking contractor bids for an approximately 5,026-foot Dragonfly Trail segment along River Road, planned to connect an area near Cascade Road with the existing RiverWalk at Lake Oliver Road. The cityโs current bid listing sets an Oct. 21, 2026, deadline of 2:30 p.m. Eastern. The original Aug. 18 solicitation had set a Sept. 23 deadline.
Plans call for a 10-foot-wide concrete trail, a pedestrian bridge, landscaping, stormwater improvements, trail amenities, clearing, grading, erosion control and signage. The solicitation also sets a 10% disadvantaged-business participation goal. Parts of the route would use state right-of-way; the solicitation says the city has obtained a Georgia Department of Transportation encroachment permit.
The request remains a bid process for the proposed connection: the cityโs listing does not identify a contractor award or construction start. After bids close, the city would review submissions; the solicitation gives no award date.
