Conferences, Career Fair and Casino Events Power Reno’s Midweek Momentum
Reno, NV – March 25, 2026 – Conferences, concerts and hiring events fill the week as major gatherings and job fairs draw crowds downtown.
Reno is closing out March with steady energy as conferences, hiring events and downtown entertainment keep the city moving through the middle of the week.
Wildland-Urban Interface Conference Draws National Crowd
Fire and emergency leaders from across the country are in Reno for the Wildland-Urban Interface Conference, running March 24 through 26. The multi-day gathering brings together wildfire experts, first responders and public safety officials to focus on prevention strategies, coordinated response efforts and long-term community preparedness.
Beyond the conference rooms, the impact is visible downtown. Attendees are filling hotel rooms, dining in local restaurants and adding to the usual weekday activity in the city’s core.
Large Career Fair Opens Doors Thursday
Job seekers will have a major opportunity Thursday, March 26, when Northern NV Jobs hosts a regional career fair at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. Organizers say employers from across Northern Nevada will be on hand, offering face-to-face networking and, in some cases, on-the-spot interviews.
The event is free and expected to draw hundreds of applicants. Industries represented include logistics, manufacturing, healthcare and hospitality, reflecting the broad mix of hiring needs across the region.
For many attendees, the in-person format offers a chance to make direct connections that can be harder to establish online.
March Mania and Midweek Entertainment
Downtown casinos are also seeing an uptick in foot traffic as March Mania events tied to college basketball tournaments continue throughout the week. Viewing parties and sportsbook gatherings at properties including the Eldorado and Silver Legacy have kept seats filled and energy high.
The added crowds are spilling into nearby restaurants and public spaces, giving the downtown corridor a lively, tournament-week feel.
Meanwhile, the Pioneer Center and other local venues are hosting touring productions and live performances Wednesday night, adding another layer to Reno’s midweek calendar. With conferences wrapping up, a major job fair on deck and entertainment venues active, the city is carrying solid momentum into the final weekend of March.
