Community Honors Tony Gullo Sr. at Annual History Road Rally
The Montgomery County Historical Commission’s 13th annual History Road Rally took place on January 31, 2026, in Conroe, Texas. This year’s event honored the late Tony Gullo Sr., founder of Gullo Automotive Group, who was a beloved community figure until his passing in June 2024 at the age of 90.
The rally, a fun history scavenger hunt designed for families and friends, focused on the historic Conroe area dating back to 1881. Participants had two hours to solve written clues by visiting various historic sites, documenting their visits with photographs, and returning within the allotted time. Free pizza and drinks were provided to participants upon their return. Souvenir “History Road Warrior” buttons featuring Tony Gullo Sr.’s photo were given to all attendees, and trophies and gift cards were awarded to the top three teams with the highest scores.
This annual event not only educates participants about Conroe’s rich history but also fosters community engagement and honors the legacy of individuals like Tony Gullo Sr., who have significantly contributed to the area’s development and culture.
