Construction begins on 13,341-square-foot Los Angeles County fire station in Valencia
Los Angeles County broke ground May 29 on Fire Station 46 at 26720 Bombero Lane near Westridge Parkway in Valencia, beginning construction on a new public-safety facility for Engine and Paramedic Squad 46.
The project changes the site from a planned station location into an active construction site. It does not yet add a staffed fire station to Valencia: The facility is not operational, and completion is scheduled for fall 2027.
What is planned for the site
The station is planned as an approximately 13,341-square-foot building. It will include two apparatus bays for an engine and a paramedic squad, providing the operating space for the units expected to be based there.
A separate barn will hold three reserve units. The station will also include dormitory space for up to 10 personnel, allowing the planned facility to support its assigned staff during operations.
The building is designed to meet net-zero energy goals. That is a design objective for the project, not a report that the completed station is already operating at that standard.
What it means for Valencia
When construction is complete, Fire Station 46 is expected to become the permanent home of Engine and Paramedic Squad 46. The county-linked reporting describes the station as intended to improve emergency-response capacity in a growing Valencia-area community.
The Signal identified the project as the first new station in the Valencia by FivePoint area. The project is therefore both a new facility for the county’s fire and paramedic operations and a major public-safety construction project in that portion of Valencia.

October falls within the broader fall schedule, but neither date represents the start of service that has already occurred.
The approved reports describe an expected emergency-response benefit but do not provide a quantified estimate for any reduction in response times. The next known milestone is the scheduled completion and opening of the station in fall 2027, with October identified as the reported target.
