East Ridge Daily Brief: Police Calls, Arrests, and a New Venue Opening

East Ridge police logged a busy midweek, highlighted by a traffic stop on Ringgold Road that officers say turned up suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl. Two people were taken into custody on felony drug charges after the stop, and one of them also faces an allegation of giving a false identity. In a separate call on Oakdale Avenue, officers responded to a report that a man had been hit in the face with a guitar during an argument.

Officers were also called to a gas station on Ringgold Road for a reported disturbance. By the time police arrived, everyone involved had left. Witnesses told officers the argument was loud but did not become physical, and no arrests were made in that incident.

Arrests from Feb. 5–7

Booking reports from the Hamilton County Jail show a run of East Ridge–related arrests between Feb. 5 and Feb. 7. Charges over those three days included multiple counts of driving under the influence, domestic assault, probation violations tied to earlier drug and traffic cases, and several drug-related offenses such as marijuana and other substances allegedly held for resale.

People listed in the reports live both in East Ridge and in nearby Chattanooga and Rossville. Police emphasize that a booking is simply a record of an accusation, not proof of guilt, and that everyone named in the reports keeps the presumption of innocence unless and until a court rules otherwise. The list is a reminder that impaired driving, substance abuse, and family violence remain steady concerns for local officers.

New Venue 1921 opens its doors

On the community side, East Ridge is celebrating the opening of Venue 1921, the city’s newest event space. City leaders planned a ribbon-cutting for this afternoon at 1:30 p.m., followed by an open house from 2 to 6 p.m. Neighbors are invited to stop in, enjoy light refreshments, and see how the renovated space can be used for receptions, meetings, and community gatherings close to home.

The name honors 1921, the year East Ridge was incorporated. City officials hope the venue will give residents another option for staying local when they plan celebrations or host out-of-town guests. It also adds to ongoing efforts to make the area around City Hall more active after work hours and to keep entertainment dollars in the community.
