El Reno Daily Briefing
Morning in El Reno starts cool and quiet, with a calm forecast, civic business on the calendar and a few new โfor saleโ signs around town.
Cool, dry stretch to wrap the weekend
A passing clouds pattern keeps today seasonable, with afternoon highs in the midโ60s and a dry forecast through tonight. Overnight lows are expected to dip back into the 30s, so early risers and lateโnight drivers will still want a jacket.
City meetings back on Tuesday
City Hall will be busy this week. The next combined meeting of the City Council, Municipal Authority, Recreational Authority and Airpark Authority is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, giving residents a chance to follow decisions on utilities, parks and airport operations. Agendas and minutes are posted on the cityโs website ahead of the meeting.
The city is also continuing longโrunning public safety efforts, including stormโshelter registration and enrollment in the smartphoneโbased emergency alert system that lets households share key medical details with 911 dispatchers. Both programs are designed to speed response during severe weather and other emergencies.
Election week after early voting
With early voting wrapped up at the Canadian County Election Board office on South Bickford, attention now shifts to Tuesdayโs February 10 election. Residents who did not vote early will cast ballots at their regular precincts, and local officials are reminding voters to doubleโcheck their polling place and bring proper ID.
Fresh listings on the local housing market
Several updated listings over the past two days add new options for buyers. A remodeled fourโbedroom, oneโbath home on North Choctaw is on the market around the $150,000 mark, positioning it as an entryโlevel option near downtown.
In the core of town, a threeโbedroom home on South Macomb, listed in the upper $180,000s, offers more space and modern finishes. On the west and southwest sides, recent listings on Maroon Drive and Burgundy Drive, both threeโbedroom, twoโbath homes priced in the midโ$200,000s, cater to buyers looking for newer construction.
For those more interested in elbow room than square footage, nearly eight acres of vacant land on Southwest 29th Street, listed just under $230,000, highlight the ongoing demand for small acreage close to town and major highways.
